Current Projects
Rico Associates was invited to join the design team effort to renovate the former 1800’s Ichabod Washburn Home for Aged Women into the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence. The following renderings depict the conceptual garden, front entry and courtyard renovations to accommodate the future residents and their families.
Garden renovations providing private and public green spaces for family gathering and individual reflection
The soothing sound of a water fountain, architectural screening for privacy and security, expanded plantings for visual and tactile interest, and comfortable benches help restore gardens into inviting, outdoor spaces
An expansive side porch provides sheltered seating with inviting furnishings and access into the expanded gardens
Landscape renovations including expanded hedges along main walk, the introduction of new cast stone planters and urns filled with seasonal color and new flowering trees and shrubs within the existing foundation beds restore the elegance of the residence front entrance
Transformation of the existing service court into a period viewing garden for residents from their rooms through the introduction of an overhead pergola with cast stone columns and trailing plants, cast stone parapet screens, new stone pavers, brick faced walls, inset plaque artwork and plant filled planters and urns
